Historic ‘Chair of St. Peter’ on public display in Vatican basilica for first time in 150 years For the first time in over a century, the historic Chair of St. Peter, a wooden throne symbolizing the pope’s magisterial authority, has been removed from its gilded bronze reliquary in St. Peter’s Basilica to be displayed for public veneration.  Pilgrims and visitors can now behold this storied relic directly in front of the basilica’s main altar, just above the tomb of St. Peter, where it will remain on display until Dec. 8, 2024 the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. Sister Zeph the Pakistani Christian Teacher wins $1Million

Sister Zeph is a Pakistani Christian educator who opened her school for deprived children in the courtyard of her home when she was 13 years old. Sister Zeph was named the Varkey Foundation’s winner of the 2023 Global Teacher Prize, which is now in its 8th year and worth $1 million . It is the world’s largest teacher award. Sister Zeph teaches English and Urdu, as well as Culture, Inter-Religion Harmony, and Climate Change, at her school in the city of Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan.
